Project Description
FAST-TRACK MISRATA AND MISRATA SIMPLE CYCLE POWER PLANT PROJECT
Brief Project Description:
In 2017, ENKA in consortium with Siemens signed the contract for the construction of the fast-track project of Tripoli West 671 MW Simple Cycle Power Plant in Libya. The contract for the project including supply and installation of gas turbine units was signed with the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) to meet growing electricity demand of Libya.
The project is based on a power island configuration for four SGT5-PAC 2000E Siemens combustion turbine generator units. The turbines of the plants will be dual-fuel fired with light fuel oil and natural gas. Power will be generated in the CTGs and stepped up through main transformers to the grid.
Brief CP Scope:
Cathodic protection is applied for the tank external bottom plates and tank internal surfaces as per approved project design documents within the scope of “FAST-TRACK MISRATA AND MISRATA SIMPLE CYCLE POWER PLANT PROJECT”. Kortek is selected to supply the materials for related Impressed Current System including 2 Transformer Rectifier Units, 8 Junction Boxes, ribbon anode and titanium conductor bar material set for 2 tanks and 250 nos of Mg Alloyed Sacrificial Anodes for tank internal plates. Design phase is already completed. Material production is in still progress and materials will be delivered to site by the end of April 2021 according to construction schedule.
